Role - Design, Art Direction
Client - Glade Festival
Agency - Urbian
Flash Development - Gary Willmott

Glade Festival was one of the largest UK electronic music festivals. Urbian was tasked with launching a digital campaign to ensure tickets sales for the 2009 event which took place in a new location in Winchester.

The website needed to reinforce the festival’s reputation for attracting some of the most cutting edge artists in the world whilst delivering a progressive and authentic music experience.

We developed a microsite featuring an interactive map controlled by a timeline spanning the four days of the festival. Festival goers could use the timeline to change from night to day, visualize artist appearance times and read information about venues, stages and artists. In addition they could create their own custom festival schedule which was instantly print ready, and the entire map was downloadable for ease of use.

The management of content had to be easy to update by the festival organisers to accommodate for any changes to the program. So Urbian custom built a WYSIWG component into the Content Management System that allowed the addition of artists and other various facilities to the map.

The website received 1.1 million page views in the first 3 months with over 13,000 Youtube views. The Facebook page gained over 3700 more fans with 80% of tickets sold within the 1st month.

The site was also awarded a Silver in the Experiential: Digital – Microsite category of the 2009 Loerie Awards, as well as a Bronze in the Digital Marketing: Website category of the Bookmarks.
